Sick House

Pardon me while I burn my germ infested house to the ground...

...and...I'm back...

Let me take you to the beginning of all this...

Friday, April 27th:  Davis came home from school complaining of stomach pains.  I let him watch cartoons in my bed while Reese took a nap and when I went to check on him, about 15 minutes into it, he was sound asleep.  When he woke up, I took his temperature.  103.7...that's, like, seizure material for kids.  I gave him some Tylenol and it quickly came down to 101.5.  He was completely fine after that.
Sunday, April 29th:  Justin couldn't get out of bed.  Fever, cold sweats, coughing.  I had to go to my craft fair, so he pushed through and managed to take the kids to a birthday party.

Monday, April 30th:  Reese had a fever all day.  I figured she was coming down with whatever the boys had.

Tuesday, May 1st:  The soles of Reese's feet, the palms of her hands, and entire private area were covered in bumps.  And they were getting worse by the minute.  And I've come down with the fever, cold sweats, and deep, painful respiratory cough.

Wednesday, May 2nd:  Pediatrician visit.  Reese has Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease.  What the hell is that, you ask?  I know, right?  It's a viral illness that starts with a fever and then produces red, painful (not itchy) bumps and blisters on the hands, feet, mouth, and sometimes private area.  How's that for showing all the signs?!?!  There's no treatment, just ride it out.  And to top it off, as I'm leaving the doctor's office, heading to Canton to sit through the rest of Davis' therapy session, I get a call from them that he has gotten sick in their trash can.  Of course he has.  So, he misses his game that night and we all sit around a wallow in our sickness sorrows together.

Thursday, May 3rd:  Davis stays home from school and I can't even get out of bed.  Justin's working in Murphy, NC for the day (again, of course) and I'm completely immobile.  I've never been sick with something like this before.  Flu symptoms accompanied with bronchial coughs.  My poor kids just watched TV and stared at me all day.
So, here we are on Saturday, May 5th:  I'm still running a fever, but freezing cold.  Can't stop coughing and now whatever's killing me has migrated to my sinuses, so I have an awesome headache going on.  It's been great for my abs, though.  If you're in need of some stomach toning, head on over and I'll breath in your face for a few minutes.  Who needs a gym?  Just get sick and cough for 4 days straight.  Reese is still covered in welts/blisters.  The boys seem to be pushing through, just fine.  Happy Cinco de Mayo.  Cheers.
