Getting Worse

Davis' cold has turned into a double ear infection. At least now he can start taking an antibiotic.

We had to drag his sick little butt to my Mom and Jay's last night for Thanksgiving...

OVER IT!!!

So, Davis has been sick for about 2 weeks now. It started with his usual sinus infection and now it's turned into a terrible cough/runny nose/temperature of 101/not eating anything. We've been up with him for the past 3 nights. Last night was the worst! Apparently, all prescription cough medication has been recalled and we've been forced to give him over-the-counter junk. I gave him his first dose of NIGHT TIME cough medicine at 3:30 yesterday afternoon. It didn't do anything. Mind you, he hasn't slept hardly at all in two days. We gave him another dose at 7:30 and put him to bed at 8. He coughed and threw up and cried and coughed and threw up and cried and coughed and threw up and cried ALL NIGHT. So, we took turns changing his bedding and clothes throughout the entire night. Finally, at 2:30, I made us a palette on the couch and laid there with him until 7:30 this morning. He, of course, woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed. Me, on the other hand...not so much. I made Justin switch with me and slept in the bed for about 2 hours. Today has been interesting...Justin and I have been shooting coffee into our veins to just try and make it through the day. And 'good old' Davis has all the energy in the world, somehow. He's pushing through the runny faucet nose and smokers' cough doing circles around us.

He looks so pitiful...

But is fine enough to prance around with Doc's collar on his head...Getting the royal treatment with his Menthol Vapor Bubble Bath...I'll try anything at this point...

Thanksgiving Feast!

Davis had his Thanksgiving Celebration at school today.

We also went to the GI doctor this afternoon for his check-up. He weighs 25 lbs, 6 oz. Two whole pounds heavier than he was in July!

He loves to wash his hands...
And gets mad when I won't let him wash his hands again...

At Aquatic Therapy yesterday, Davis stood all by himself for about 30 seconds at a time! It was soooo awesome! And his speech has really been taking off lately. For some reason, though, his favorite things have very strange names. For example, 'Blanket' is 'Da' and 'Mickey Mouse' is 'Ba'! Oh! And 'Blue's Clues' is 'Ba Ga' and he sways back and forth while he says it.

Family Weekend!

We hung out at Dad's house on Friday night and watched the UK Basketball Game. Comcast, of course, let down its customers and we were forced to crowd around the computer to watch Kentucky lose.My grandmother was in town for the weekend, so Davis and I got to spend bunches of time with her! We love you, Memaw! And you'll have to email me some of the pictures you took!

"What? Doc does it."
Just checking his stocks.

Thanks Danielle!

It's been a while since my last post and I apologize for that. Davis has been sick with a sinus infection (his 90th of the year) and I had a virus on my computer (its 2nd of the year). So, I've been busy nursing my son and computer back to health!

He already knows how to milk the whole 'I don't feel good' thing for all it's worth...
This was right after his recommended flu shot. He didn't even flinch...
"I eat flu shots for breakfast!"

Lights off!
Lights on!

He thought he could use a little oxygen.

His very first school pictures came in. And wouldn't you know it...he won Best Looking for his class! Ok. I made that up. But, look at him!

When my Dad decided to name himself 'Pa' he would ask Davis, "Where's Pa?" and pat his chest, as if to say, 'Right here.' Well, we've been hanging out at my Dad's a lot lately and now whenever we walk up the driveway, Davis pats his chest and says, "Pa." It's really cute. We went over there yesterday and Davis wandered into the dining room, found the Christmas presents my Dad just bought, and started playing with them! Who remembers searching the house for their Christmas presents as a kid!?! Davis is already doing it.

Coloring over there last Friday

My girlfriend and I volunteered for this Strong Legs Run (for children with developmental disabilities) on Saturday morning so Justin took Davis up to Ellijay for the day. He said they had a really great time.

Davis is in this really clingy stage right now, which is exciting for us because it's another developmental milestone that he's reaching! And he's become quite the helper around the house. "Go throw this away for Mama." "Take your clothes to the hamper." "Put your crayons back in the box." "Go fix me a steak." It's really great. :)

Oh! And Davis just switched over to big boy tooth paste that has fluoride in it so we've been teaching him to spit when his mouth gets full...it's a work in progress, but very entertaining!
